* Familiarity with a wide range of flora and fauna assessment and monitoring, including assessment of threatened flora and fauna species, populations and ecological communities, their related habitats and ecology in the Sydney Basin Bioregion and other biogeographical regions.
* Biodiversity impact assessment, construction phase and post-construction phase impact assessment, monitoring and impact mitigation measures.
* Constraints and opportunities studies.
* Undertake Review of Environmental Factors (REFs), Statements of Environmental Factors (SEEs), technical input into Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Species Impact Statements (SISs).
* Assessment and monitoring of the location and status of rare, regionally significant or locally significant species of flora, fauna, ecological communities and populations.
* Addressing conservation legislation as determined by the NSW 'Threatened Species Act (1995) and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (1999), as well as various SEPP, LEP and DCP legislative policies and documents in relation to threatened species of flora and fauna and endangered ecological communities and populations.
* '7-Part test' of significance for assessment of impact of proposed developments on individuals or life-cycles of threatened species of flora and fauna and endangered ecological communities or populations.* Familiarity with field sampling - both from current environmental survey work e.g. 20 x 20m quadrats using Braun-Blanquet ranked scores for all species - and from ecological research into distributions of sclerophyllous vegetation types on the east coast of NSW. Systematic flora and fauna surveys utilising standardised survey methods.
